Efficient and Trustworthy
Operating, Open-Source, Operational Systems Group
Joining the ETOS group
If you are currently a Brown CS students and excited about building systems with us, the best way to get started is to take a course we teach (e.g., CSCI 0300 or CSCI 2390). These courses are known to be challenging and time-consuming, but they will give you the skills necessary to do systems research and a good idea of the kind of research we're engaged in.
Students joining the group may join an existing project (the most common case) or start their own project. Either approach may result in research that grows into a honors thesis or a master's thesis.
If you are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. with ETOS, please see the Brown CS Ph.D. program page for details on the application process. We are looking for individuals who enjoy intellectual challenges, are curious, self-motivated, and love building practical systems and tools that can be used by others and make a real-world impact.
